Sell Used Games
Is your game shelf full to critical capacity? Do you have games in your collection that you’ve never opened, or that just don’t make it to the table anymore?
Find your dust-collecting games a good home through our Used Game shelf – and stock up on store credit at the same time!
Selling Used Games: How to Start
First, decide which games you’d like to sell and how much you’d like to sell them for.
You get 75% of the sale price in store credit, so take that into account when setting your prices.
Bring those games to the store you’d like us to shelve them (maximum of 5 on the shelf per person).
We’ll print you a log sheet with your name and MVP number. Fill out the sheet to let potential buyers know what condition your game is in: Is it brand new with the cardboard un-punched? Or well-loved and worn? Did it share its home with pets? And so on.
What Happens Next
Then we’ll use your log sheet to process your game, wrap it up in shrinkwrap plastic, and add it to the Used Games shelf.
Each seller has a limit of 5 games on the shelf at a time, and those games will have 60 days on the shelf before we check back in to see if you’d like to take the game home or change the asking price.
If the game sells, you will receive an email notification stating that it sold.
We then wait five days to process your Used Game’s sale and ensure that the buyer does not return it. After those five days have passed, you get 75% of the price in store credit added directly to your MVP account and usable in any of your future Board Game Barrister purchases.
Returns on Used Games
When a buyer purchases a Used Game, they have three days to return that game. This gives them a chance to open it up, inspect it and make sure the game is in the condition they were led to expect.
If they do return the game, we will send the seller an email notification stating that their previously purchased game has been returned. This will cancel the delivery of the seller’s store credit, and one of our managers will contact the seller to determine whether or not we return the game to the Used Games shelf.
When do you get your store credit?
Assuming that your game is not returned, you will receive store credit equal to 75% of the game’s sale price.
That store credit will be added to your MVP account 5 days after the game’s purchase.
This store credit works just like a gift card, and can be applied to any future Board Game Barrister purchase that you make using your MVP account.
